Harnessing AI in Clinical Practice: Opportunities to Enhance Operations and Patient Care
Friday February 21, 2025 8:30am - 9:45am CST
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools develop, leaders in academic family medicine need to be actively involved in shaping the way this technology is utilized in healthcare settings. While AI has great promise to contribute to more effective and efficient care, leaders must be well versed in opportunities as well as challenges associated with implementation, including potential bias and data privacy. This session will offer an overview of AI and machine learning, with a focus on applications in clinical and administrative operations. Attendees will hear from panelists who have started utilizing various AI tools within their departments to demonstrate lessons learned and future possibilities.

Friday February 21, 2025 11:15am - 12:15pm CST
While it can often feel easier to identify our challenges and focus on areas for growth, we should also reflect and celebrate the exciting work happening in our departments. Medical students and residents continually bring new perspectives into the discipline that we want to foster and guide as we work together to build a strong future for family medicine. During this session, current and recently graduated learners will share projects and innovative initiatives they led in their departments, with a focus on what opportunities in their department nurtured their leadership throughout the process.
